About a year ago I moved to Mequon, on the outskirts of Milwaukee. And boy does this place suck. I’ll find my way out of here eventually, but in the meantime I’ve taken it upon myself to celebrate this bland, flavorless, homogenized “community” with my own little splash of satire. Introducing the Mequon t shirt designed in the style of the Wonder Bread logo.
Wonder Bread is bread only in the sense that it is in the shape of a loaf of bread. Outside of that it is nothing more than a bunch of highly processed white filler. Likewise, the township of Mequon on the surface appears to be a scenic pastoral farm community. But once your fingernails scratch beneath that veneer you find absolutely nothing of substance and, again, a lot of white filler. It’s just a bunch of wealthy people who are scared of the world so they insulate themselves with their wealth and create a fake little Disneyland style universe to inhabit.
Do you know of any other places that deserve the distinction of being a Wonder Bread community?
Keep a look out, you can bet I’ll be rocking this around town on occasion!
