Just a quick announcement for some of the recent activity my work has been getting lately. I’ve had good success this year getting my work into juried shows, and all at some pretty quality places to boot! Earlier in the year I had one piece make an appearance at the “Pushing Paper” exhibit in the Indianapolis Art Center. Then the same piece just got accepted to the Cimarron National Works on Paper exhibition at Oklahoma State University, opening this fall on September 9th. The attention this work is getting makes me wish I had more time these days to explore what I was getting into here more.
Then I got two of my newer lithography collage pieces into the “Juxtaposition” show at the Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. I’m very excited to get this new work out in front of some people. Production has been pretty slow going since graduating from the MFA program so it makes it feel like these pieces take extra long to make. Unfortunately I don’t have the shot of them in their totally sweet frames that I constructed readily handy.
And also upcoming is a non-juried opportunity at the Agitator Gallery in Chicago. In September I’ve been invited to take part in a project where I’ll get to attempt to draw one of my abstract colored pencil drawings at mural size. I’m interested, and a little unsure, as to exactly how it will go. Or at least I think the results will be great, but the process may not be all that fun. Lots of exciting things happening this year!
Well, time to get back to it.
