Four years ago, back in the innocent times when the idea of Donald Trump being president was an absurd joke, I made an absurd satirical piece of “pro Trump” art for an outfit called the Artists for Trump Coalition. I primarily made it so that I could post it online for a laugh with my friends, but just to see what would happen I actually submitted it to this pro Trump group.
To my surprise, they took it as a genuine submission and issued me a certificate for my participation. For me, that was reward enough, but this prank proved to be the gift that kept on giving. Without dragging things out in detail, I also eventually had the piece accepted into an actual juried exhibition in the D.C./Baltimore area, and now, as the crowning achievement of this weird little collage that I made, it earned me a quotation in the Washington Post. The article is linked below, viewing it requires a subscription, and also for your consideration is the piece of art that made it all happen.
